Hello, I’m Anna Popova — an English teacher, corporate trainer, and non-fiction translator based in Cyprus. I help adults build real, usable language skills: for work, exams, international teams, and everyday confidence.
What I do
Corporate English & professional communication
I design and deliver training that fits your team’s goals (meetings, email clarity, presentations, negotiation, customer communication) and the reality of busy schedules.
Exam preparation (Cambridge B1 Preliminary, B2 First, C1 Advanced, IELTS, TOEFL)
I’ve prepared students — including other English teachers — for high-stakes exams using structured practice, targeted feedback, and a clear plan.
Course development & learning strategy support
I create practical, engaging materials (from beginner programs to upper-intermediate courses built around authentic content). I also help learners build routines and strategies that actually stick.
Non-fiction translation (EN↔RU)
For 10 years I translated and edited 30+ non-fiction books (plus songs, musicals, subtitles, and short films), working with major publishers including Eksmo, Alpina, and AST.
My background in a nutshell
- 12+ years teaching languages in 1:1, group, and corporate formats (~10,000 teaching hours)
- Cambridge C2 Proficiency certified
- Course developer & coordinator at Language Heroes: created interactive materials for 12-week courses and helped 300+ students build personalised learning paths
My languages
- Russian — native
- English — full professional (C2)
- Italian — full professional (C2)
At the moment I’m learning elementary Greek, so I understand firsthand what it feels like to build a new language from scratch — and I bring that empathy and practical strategy into my teaching and training.
Education
- Moscow State University — Russian Studies (2019–2020)
- Università per Stranieri di Perugia — Italian Language and Literature (2014)
- National Research University of Electronic Technology (MIET) — Foreign Languages (2008–2013)
Talks & publications
I’ve also given public lectures on language learning and linguistics, including topics like efficient learning strategies, false beginners, and learning multiple languages at once.
How I work
My approach is practical and learner-centred:
- we define the real situations you need English for
- we build a plan you can realistically follow
- we focus on measurable progress (not “studying more”, but speaking/writing better in specific contexts)
